Satlantic OCR-507 Multispectral Radiometer

Overview

The Satlantic OCR-507 Multispectral Radiometer is a multispectral radiometer, part of the “micro-sensor” line of in-water radiometers from Satlantic.

Like the Satlantic HyperOCR set provided by the facility, the OCR-507 provides measurements of in water upwelling radiance and downwelling irradiance, from which ocean colour products can be derived.

The set consists of one in-water radiometer for multispectral upwelling radiance measurements, and one radiometer for in-water multispectral downwelling irradiance measurements.

The loss of hyperspectral functionality is made up by a choice of bands which are commonly used for ocean colour product derivations, as well as a decreased power consumption with a higher depth rating, allowing for longer periods of submersion at greater depths.

Like the HyperOCRs, the OCR-507s can be mounted on real-time profilers, moored on autonomous deep-water buoys, installed in autonomous underwater vehicles, as well as on ships and aeroplanes for above-water optic applications.
